It is always fun to be a part of this fun morning! 

 This Week In the Classroom

In math we compared numbers 0 - 20 using a number line.

The super-cold weather gave us many opportunities for indoor recess.

Activity time had us practicing sight words with the 'POP' game

and listening for ending sounds in the 'Ending Sound Star' game

moving about the room in a Word Hunt

Painting with Shaving cream,

And of course, practicing reading!

Bobcat Spirit Day - lots of RED!

Today (Friday) in math we made a recipe.

It called for yellow water and blue water.

What will it make?

Green water!

In the afternoon, Mrs. Helmkamp showed us how to
check out books by reading the QR codes with the iPads!

Then we each got to try it!

Then we began the work of sorting and arranging the books 

in our library.

Other groups set up the check out counter and the Children's area.

First FULL week in January

We wrapped up our learning about Epiphany this week. Like the Wise Men
followed the Star, we follow God's Word to Jesus!

 We enjoyed making mosaic crosses for one of our memory art pieces.

 We also sanded and painted wood pieces for an all-school project for NLSW!

It was a challenging week for weather...

Our playground was too wet most days, 

So we played in and around the Bobcat Pit.

And a few times, nothing but indoor recess would do.

Fun with the Math Mat

Strengthening fingers with the "Grabber".

And Legos are always a hit!

Math was fun. We learned about greater and smaller numbers, using a number line for a visual. Then we used dot cubes to practice "adding on" when combining sets.
