This week in Kindergarten

At Jesus Time on Friday, we made animals out of play dough.
In the afternoon we got to try a different medium - clay. It was much stiffer, but we mastered it!

                     Recess Time!

Sorting our names

The alligators that came home (with full day students) were a step-by-step 'Mystery' project. The students did not know what they were making! We began by cutting squares and rectangles and arranging them in a pattern. Then we cut circles from squares (pictured here). Last we cut out triangles and used the scrap for teeth and claws.

Jesus Time: Sharing what we have learned.

Each child received a sticker proclaiming them to be
God's "Good Work"!

Mrs. Haun reads to us again!

More Peeks into Kindergarten

Mrs. Haun came to share a story
with us.

Here we are enjoying snack time.

Superhero A

Superhero A came to show us her powers - and introduce us to our handwriting books. :-)

A collage of some of the letter A's, and things starting with A, we found on our search!

Week Two

Our second math material was Pattern Blocks.  What fun! Here we are exploring them.

Reading to our Rice Babies

Before taking them home on Thursday, we had a chance to 'read' to our rice babies.

This one is even showing the pictures!

Morning Greeting

Each day we begin with Morning Greeting, which consists of passing a fist bump and the words "Good morning, (classmate's name). I'm glad you're here." It looks something like this...

Teddy Bear Math

We've explored our first math material - Teddy Bear Counters. We will use them throughout the year for counting, sorting, patterning, learning capacity, and one-to-one correspondence.

First Day

Normally the blog will be updated on Fridays, but I though you might like to sneak a peak at the first day.

Ahhh...shade!

We love lunch!
