'Twas the Week Before Christmas...

We have had a very busy week, but I hope everyone looks back on it with fond memories, as I will.

This week we wrapped our gifts,

practiced printing J's and j's,

practiced beginning sounds,

and hunted for Christmas words around the room.
This week we also added reading to a partner!

On Monday and Thursday, we practiced in the church with the Eighth Graders.

Third week of December - the PEACE week of Advent!

On Monday Mrs. Haun came and read a fun Christmas story to us!

Center activities throughout the week

Decorating the tree

Labeling a Nativity

We got to try 'Partner Reading'

'Listen to Reading' on the iPads allows us to follow along with the words.

Practicing spatial awareness skills with a puzzle.

TEAMWORK!

Preparing artwork for our Christmas Service on Friday

Christmas Memory Match
Shhh... this one is a surprise!

On Thursday afternoon, the Eighth Grade Spanish students
took us to experience Los Posadas.

Mrs. Martin explains to us what we will be doing. (We are carrying our lanterns.)

At each door, when Maria and Jose asked for a place
to stay, we got to help the Innkeepers answer in Spanish!

Finally, we got a 'Si'!

We played a game - little kids won!

Ethan broke the imaginary piniata...

and everyone got a treat!

Then our eighth grade friends sang us a some Spanish Christmas songs!
