STEM

On Friday, March 23rd, we spent the afternoon
introducing a STEM project on wind.

The first step was to decorate our Spiffy spheres (aka ping pong balls).
We had learned about spheres in math that morning.

Next we read a book - The Wind Blew, by Pat Hutchins

Then it was time to start 'tinkering'.
We experimented with different straws, different surfaces, and different items to blow.

On Monday afternoon we began drawing and planning our mazes.
The goal was to build a maze through which a ball could be moved
with only the air blown through the straw. No touching allowed!

By Wednesday afternoon our mazes were complete!

LOVED the collaboration!
