Kindergarten Kapers
Vol. 24
Fit
February
Today we had our first
nutrition presentation by Mrs. Nea. We learned the importance of “eating a
rainbow”, because the colorful foods God created contain healthful
phytonutrients. (Think red apples, green broccoli, yellow peppers, purple
grapes, et. – not artificial dyes.)
She challenged the children to try to eat a rainbow this week.
Chinese
New Year
Today we celebrated the Chinese New Year by reading
about it and trying out our own chopsticks! See photos below.
New Classmate
Yes, again we are blessed to welcome a new
classmate! Brooke joined our class
on Thursday and is fitting right in.
We welcome Brooke and her family with a big Bobcat Welcome!
Open House Sunday
This Sunday, 1-3 PM, bring your friends and/or
neighbors to visit Zion and see what makes it a great place to be!
Valentine Party
This Thursday we will celebrate Valentines Day in
the classroom, beginning at 2 PM.
All are welcome and help is appreciated. Half-day students are invited (and encouraged) to return for
the party.
Baby Bottles
The Baby Bottle project is sponsored by Lutherans
for Life, and will assist couples who wish to adopt. Our class has an awesome start due to come generous
families. The bottle is past full, but we can certainly fill something else! Our chapel offerings from last week and
this week will also go to the Baby Bottle fund.
Sausage Making
Here is a unique way to spend Valentines Day and get
to know some fellow Zion members.
Sausage-making takes place in Zion’s fellowship hall on Thursday. See the Banner for details.
Ash Wednesday
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, marking the
beginning of Lent. We will attend
chapel with the first through eighth graders, and have the opportunity to have
the sign of the cross marked on our foreheads or hands. We will discuss it
beforehand, but you may also wish to talk with your kindergartener about it.
Finally
. . .
God’s blessings on your
weekend as you rest, recreate, and worship.
Yours in
Christ,
Mrs. Cheryl
Lail
