Indoor Recess is Full of Choices

As much as we believe in the benefits of getting the students outside to run around in the fresh air, Indoor Recess has it's charms.  The kids LOVE it, and ask frequently if we can have Indoor Recess.  Here are a few of the things they choose to do.

Creating

Writing

Playing checkers

Cooking up something interesting

Doing major construction

Coloring

And DANCING in preparation for 'The Wedding'
(Not my daughter's wedding, the kids were playing wedding!)

King of Ing Day

We wore our crowns as Mrs. Lail talked with
Jack the puppet at Jesus Time...

...and as we worked in our workbooks...

...and as we did our math!

Having a grand time on Grandparents' Day

Doing the Months Macarena

Oh, I wish I had a little red box
To put my grandma in...

...I'd take her out and (kiss, kiss, kiss)
And put her right back again!
The 'I Love You Little' orchestra

Measuring footsteps: Whose is more?

Hand-in-hand, Aren't we GRAND?

Thank you, Grandparents!

Fit February Finale!

We learned about 'Stoplight Foods' and made a craft to help us remember.
Green Light: GO - eat all you want!
Yellow Light: SLOW DOWN - eat these just once in a while.
Red Light: STOP - These are foods to avoid!

Sharing God's Word

When paired to share the story of Jesus healing
the ten lepers, these two sang their way through
the book using the song "Ten Sick Men".  :-)

Comparing Numbers with Playing Cards

The game of 'War' teaches comparing of sets.

MDA Hop-a-thon

These kindergarteners hopped their hearts out!

Everybody got a duck!
