Kindergarten Kapers vol.19

Kindergarten Kapers                     Vol. 19

This Sunday is Epiphany – the celebration of the Wise Men’s trek to see the infant King.  May your heart be moved to worship that King as the Magi did.

Jesus TIme
Kindergarten had it’s own journey today as we went on a ‘Star Search’ to find the Baby Jesus.  (If you’re on the blog, see photos below.)

Class Service Project
Thank you for your generosity for little Drew.  As I helped load the meals for delivery on Dec. 21st, I was amazed at the abundance.
Little Drew had a day-long surgery yesterday to remove the now-benign tumor.  They were able to remove 90% of it, but it was intense and recovery will take some time.  Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Show and Tell
The children chose dates for their chance to show and tell one of their Christmas gifts.  A copy of the schedule is in each folder so that you are aware of the date your child chose.  Thank you for helping them remember.

New Quarter
We have begun third quarter, (although finalizing grades for report cards makes it feel like the end of second quarter.) Watch for grades next week.

Worship Journals
The worship journals are not quite complete, but in your child’s folder is a copy of the first page for this weekend.

Finally . . .
God’s blessings on your weekend as you rest, recreate, and worship.

              Yours in Christ,
              Mrs. Cheryl Lail

Next week’s Memory:
Praise be to the Lord . . . our Savior.              Psalm 68:19

Upcoming Events
January’s calendar includes the following:
       Donuts for Dads              16th
100th Day Field Trip       25th (tentative)
       NLSW 27th-31st
Watch for details!

Star Search

As we started out . . .

our Star Search soon took us outside . . .

into the Church and up the stairs . . .

right into the Sanctuary . . .
where we found Baby Jesus,
and worshipped Him.

First Kapers of the Year

Kindergarten Kapers  Vol. 18

Christmas Break is coming to an end, but CHRISTMAS continues, because Jesus doesn’t leave at the end of Christmas Break!
I pray your time was fun, relaxing, and meaningful.  Welcome back!

Christmas Show and Tell
Most children have something new they are excited to share.  Starting Monday we will let three students share something each day. There will be a sign-up sheet on my desk with slots for next week.  Students may sign up beginning this week (Thursday or Friday).

No Memory Work!
This short week there will be no memory verse to recite.

Coming up
January will be a busy month.  Watch for details regarding the following.
       Donuts for Dads
       100th Day Field Trip
       National Lutheran Schools Week

Happy New Year
Wishing you a very blessed New Year, resting in the peace our newborn Savior brings.

              Yours in Him,
              Mrs. Cheryl Lail

We ended the semester with a terrific Christmas Party provided by our room mothers.  Click here to see highlights.

Kindergarten Tells the Christmas Story

Dear Families,

This is an unrehearsed telling of the Christmas story.  The children are responding to questions.  Their responses, strung together, are a brief retelling of the events of Luke 2.

For various reasons (illness, technical, or choice), not every child is shown.  Still, I hope you enjoy it!

New Year's blessings!
Mrs. Lail
